Today is the Dulles Greenway’s Drive for Charity

Commuters can support a good cause by driving on the Dulles Greenway today for the Drive for Charity. Tolls collected during the Drive for Charity will be dedicated the Dulles Greenway Scholarship Program and to the following charities: Every Citizen Has Opportunities (ECHO), The March of Dimes (National Capital Area chapter), Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter (LAWS), FreshAir/Full Care, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, Loudoun Free Clinic, and the Dulles Greenway Citizenship Award.

Since opening in 1995, the Dulles Greenway has provided funding for local youth sports teams, elementary school fundraisers, and high school graduation events.

The Greenway created the annual Drive for Charity in 2006 in an effort to expand its support of the Loudoun community. Last year, the Dulles Greenway contributed $331,594.65 to local charities, and has given a total of $2,722,384.97 to local charities over the last 11 years.

I want to get behind this but I can’t get passed the fact that we have this highway in which you must have a trust fund to use on a daily basis. Travel from the Western end of the County would be so much easier if I won the lottery so I can use the greenway.
