VP Biden in Sterling Monday

Roll out the Democratic red carpet in Sterling Monday, as Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Sens. Mark Warner and Jim Webb, and former Gov. Tim Kaine—who’s looking to claim the retiring Webb’s seat—will hold an election eve rally at Heritage Farm Museum at 10 a.m.

Positioned in Claude Moore Park, the Heritage Farm Museum is located at 21668 Heritage Farm Lane. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the following locations Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.:

-Organizing for America - 46396 Benedict Drive, Suite 200, Sterling
-Organizing for America - 56 Sycolin Rd., Leesburg
-Loudoun County Democratic Committee - 1 E. Market Street, Suite 201, Leesburg

Tickets will also be available at the Heritage Farm Museum Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Virginia – along with Ohio, Florida and a couple other states – is battleground central on the final weekend before the election. Democrats are gearing up for a marquee event in Bristow Saturday featuring President Obama, President Bill Clinton and a performance from commonwealth-native Dave Matthews.

Republican candidate Mitt Romney will be in Northern Virginia on Monday, as well, holding a speech in Fairfax around 2:30 p.m. Romney’s veep pick, Congressman Paul Ryan, is touring central and south Old Dominion with Gov. Bob McDonnell Saturday.

The race in Virginia remains dead-locked. The lastest polling average from Real Clear Politics shows Romney ahead by half a percentage point. Nationally, the polls show an equally tight race—though Obama has the slight edge overall, according to the Real Clear Politics average.

Let’s all try to be nice to the Republicans today.

They’re going to have a rough day as returns start coming in.

I know how I felt when Bush got re-elected.

Yeah, and Lincoln was a republican. Everyone knows the parties switched. South used to be all dem, North all Rep. At first I thought that you must have known that, but judging from your posts that is probably news to you.

shaking, I know—I am over 50 and grew up in Virginia.

Just spelling it the way I often see it spelled by some of the tolerant folks who like to lecture on “tone”.

Nothing says confidence like angry snark, francis.

Hee haw to you too!  :D

shaking your head, I tend to suspect Biden was a different kind of insurance—every bit as cynical, but less violent.

You know how the “rethugliKKKan” party is supposedly nothing but crazy old white men (Mia Love, Marco Rubio, Allen West are somehow invisible, but I digress)?

After the defeat of a powerhouse Dem like Mrs. Clinton, by an attractive unknown inexperienced charismatic young black man, who had to appeal quite broadly with his transformative agenda and near-complete lack of a resume, I think Biden was the old white guy selected to provide what some of the great minds probably thought would be “reassuring optics”.

And he is one heck of an out-there older caucasian guy!

Glad to see the Romney supporters in such good humor.  They’ll need it as the week progresses….

@right honorable. I highly doubt it. As someone who voted for Obama for change in 2008, I’m switching over. Obama will go down as one of the worst presidents in history. He accomplished so very little, yet blamed everyone. A true leader gets in and does the job, even if he has to compromise. He wasted 4 years and now wants 4 more years??? If he couldn’t get it done before, why does anyone think he can do it this term? The Independents in northern va will crossover and vote for Mitt. Now if Mark Warner were running, I’d vote for him for president.

Race relations the worst since the 60’s ?  What rock do you live under ?  What measure did you use to come to that grandiose conclusion ?  Truly laughable.

If not a single Democrat could win a seat on the Board of Supervisors, there is little chance of Obama winning Loudoun in 2012. Sorry, but Socialism doesn’t sell in Virgina. You can take that message to Maryland, where they love Socialism so much it is bankrupting them, causing them to turn to Casinos to prop up their failed state.

I hope someone records his speech—they’re always FABULOUS.

What’s the over/under on “It’s great to be here in West Virginia, where the middle class has been buried for four years, and there’s NEVER been a day when I’ve been proud to be VP during that time!  Let’s ALL show we are the size of cue balls, and vote forward!”  Yaaaaaay!

And to think people were worried that Quayle was one step away—amazing.

Yes, Shaking, please stay away.

We’ll be pre-celebrating the defeat of the Romney-Ryan ticket and hoping the country can begin to get back to a better form of public policy than what Grover Norquist and Karl Rove and the GOP offer
