Cynthia Dawson Wagoner
After a brief illness, Cynthia Dawson Wagoner, born Sept 23 1935, passed on Jan 3, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. Proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Sydney S Wagoner, Jr, who passed in 2012 and her son, Sydney S Wagoner, III, who passed in Jan 2016. Survived by her son, Craig Wagoner, his wife Karen, and their four children, Brandon, and his wife Melissa, Ryan, Tristan and Cassidy Wagoner. Also surviving, two sisters, Gertrude Callahan of Florida, Doris Allder of Winchester, two brothers, George Dawson of Leesburg and JD Dawson of Winchester, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sister, Lorraine Lilly of Chantilly, passed in 2009.
Cynthia has traveled the world, living in Laos, Bangui, Congo, Tunis, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, supporting her husbands work with the foreign service and then private contractor to INM(DEA). She enjoyed her stay in each place and kept in touch with many of those friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11-12 p.m. on Saturday January 7th. A funeral service will begin at 12 noon with interment following in Lakeview Cemetery, Hamilton, VA.
