Andrew Giersher

Andrew Giersher, 75, of Front Royal, VA, died on October 25, 2017 at Warren Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Ohio.
Andy was born July 23, 1942 in Zendersch (Transylvania) Romania son of the late Andreas Gierscher and Sara Schmidt Gierscher. He served in the US Navy from 1962-1966 serving in the Vietnam War as a flight navigator in a heavy attack squadron. Following his service, Mr. Giersher attended Youngstown State University. In 1968, he married Linda Bartell of Youngstown, Ohio. Andrew worked for the Xerox Corporation for 21 years. He was president for the Quantum Group as a business quality consultant, leading to his position as a principal consultant with CSC Corporation until his retirement in 2012. Andrew was very active at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church as president of the congregation and was a current water board member of the High Knob Homeowners Association. He had a passion for life and his family. He was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, spending time with his granddaughters taking them on trips, the beach, and being with family and friends.
He is surivived by his wife Linda; two children Andrew Giersher and wife Anetka of Chicago, IL and Sara Koob and husband Aaron of Wilmington, NC; two sisters Sara Deutschlander and Kay Hermann of Youngstown, OH; three grandchildren Savannah, Grace and Lauren Koob; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to C-CAP, a local project helping those in need, 316 N. Royal, Front Royal, VA 22630.
