Charles Proctor Patrick

Charles Proctor Patrick of Leesburg, VA., passed away February 3, 2018. His wife of 62 and ½ years, the former Ruth L. Schuetze preceded him in death in 2015. He was born August 12, 1924 in Dayton, KY and was raised in Norwood, Ohio and graduated from Norwood High School in June 1942. He studied at Purdue University from 1942-1945 when he was drafted into the Army. His primary responsibilities were processing home the soldiers returning from overseas. He was discharged in 1946. He worked for Proctor and Gamble for 30 years and lived in Cincinnati and Forest Park Ohio for 45 years. He moved to Middletown, MD in 1997 where he remained until September 2015 when he moved to Leesburg, VA where he resided at Morningside House. Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Linda S. Tegnestam of New York City (Brooklyn) and Janice L. Runge of Ashburn, VA. He is also survived by his three grandchildren; Mats (Erica) Tegnestam of Brooklyn, NY; Amanda (Jon) Merrick of Buffalo, NY; Andrew Runge of Ashburn, VA; and three great-grandchildren; David, Joshua and Elizabeth Merrick.
Funeral services will be held at noon on February 19 at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main st., Middletown. Rev. Karen Grossnickle will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
