Cheryl Lyn Collins

Cheryl Lyn Collins, 59, died October 1, 2017 at her home in Aldie, VA surrounded by her family. Cheryl was a native of Northern Virginia and raised her three children in Round Hill, VA. Cheryl completed her A.A.S. Veterinary Technology degree from Northern Virginia Community College Loudoun Campus in May 1997. In 2003, Cheryl opened Stonewall Veterinary Clinic with her business partner, Dr. Lauri Fauss. Cheryl managed the operations of the clinic and continued to exercise her LVT skills part-time. She moved to Aldie, VA in 2004 shortly after starting her business in Gainesville, VA. In 2010 she became a member of the Northern Virginia Community College Veterinary Technology Program Advisory Committee.

Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her children and five grandsons. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and could typically be found at the many vineyards around Loudoun or competitively playing many recreational sports.

Cheryl is predeceased by her mother Bobbie; her brother Ron; and her two shih tzu’s Bailee and Mercedes. Cheryl is survived by her father Frank and stepmother Debbie of Port Orange, FL; her daughter Jessica of Roanoke, VA; her son Matthew (Angela) of Purcellville, VA; her daughter Megan (Joe) of Leesburg, VA; her grandsons Declan, Peyton, Riley, Elijah, and Emerson; and her grand dogs Molly and Teddy.

A celebration of her life is being held in her honor. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to The Humane Society of Fairfax County, 4057 Chain Bridge Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030 or INOVA Schar Cancer Institute, 3225 Gallows Rd, Falls Church, VA 22031.
