Janet Mae French McLean

Janet Mae French McLean

Janet Mae French McLean, our amazing great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and cherished friend, completed her earthly journey and arrived safely home Thursday morning, November 30, 2017. Though the family and friends who remain will miss her greatly, Janet's home-going is cause for celebration, as she is now with her precious Savior, Jesus.
Janet was born in 1938 and grew up in Varina, Virginia, just outside Richmond, where she worked for Federal Reserve Bank and Chevrolet Motors Corporation. However, for the last 37 years, she made the Waterford area her beloved home, working for Loudoun Mutual Insurance Company until her retirement in 2007. An active member of Waterford Baptist Church and volunteer at Interfaith Outreach Ministries, one of her proudest accomplishments was serving as the Chairman of the Art Exhibit for the Waterford Fair for 27 years.
Janet's tremendous love for her family was exceeded only by her love for Jesus. She truly loved people, giving generously of her time, her heart, her talents and her humor in such a way that made everyone who was blessed to know her immeasurably richer for the experience. She was preceeded in death by her mother, Violet Leola French and her father, Lester J. French. She is survived by her three daughters, affectionately known as, "her girls", Katherine Renee McMullen of Lynchburg, VA., April McLean Moore of Nashville, TN. and Laurie McLean Hahn, of Thurmont, MD., four grandsons, Nicholas Alexander and Demetrius Alexander, both of Lynchburg, VA., Marshall Hahn, of Thurmont, MD. and Griffin Moore, of Nashville, TN., two great grandchildren, Jude Alexander and Arrow Alexander, and three sons-in-law, Frederick J. McMullen, Callan Hahn, and Todd Moore.
All arrangements are being handled by Hall Funeral Home, Purcellville, VA. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Waterford Baptist Church, Waterford, VA. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with a reception and fellowship time with the family to follow. Charitable donations in Janet's name can be made to the Loudoun Breast Health Network.
