Margaret Anne (Peg) Mallon

Mallon, Margaret Anne (Peg) was born in Kennett Square, Pa., to the late Margaret R. Kitts and William H. Worrall.

She attended George School in Newtown, Pa., graduating with the Class of 1958. Following that, she completed the BSN Nursing Program at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and completed her practicum in New York City.

Serving others through nursing became her life’s work. Peg started as a unit nurse and ultimately became administrator of the Loudoun Long Term Care Center at Loudoun Memorial Hospital in Leesburg, Va. (now Inova) before retiring in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Francis Mallon of Brooklyn N.Y., in 1993.

In retirement, Peg moved to Richmond, VA in 2003 to be closer to several grandchildren. Her interests included gardening, knitting, needlework and reading science fiction. She volunteered at the Westover Hills Library and knitted blankets for veterans struggling with cancer. She died at her home in Richmond surrounded by family.

She is survived by her sister, Susan Stanford (John) of Leesburg, Va.; her brother, William Worrall (Barbara) of Kennett Square, Pa.; and her sister, Rebecca Worrall of Oxford, Pa. Also surviving are two daughters, Margaret R. Mallon of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Elizabeth A. Singer (Edward) of Richmond, Va.; and five beautiful grandchildren.
