Richard Wayne Hindman

Richard Wayne Hindman of Mount Airy, North Carolina, went home to Heaven on September 22, 2017 with his wife and children by his side. Richard was born on April 2, 1947, in Leesburg, Virginia and raised in Loudoun County. He was the son of Paul Hindman (deceased) and Mary Jane (Weidman) Hindman Poston of Hamilton, VA. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Monika Hindman and his three children, Lori Rustad (Will), Barry Hindman (Jenny), and Bradley Hindman. Also surviving Richard is his mother Mary Jane Hindman Poston, brothers Robert (Tony) Hindman and John Hindman, along with his sisters Gaye Barbour (Larry), Dixie Orrison (Garry) and Ivy Hindman, grandchildren Nathan Kelley, Miriam and Malachi Hindman, and Gracie, Bradley and Mary Hindman, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Fry Hindman, his sister, Paulette Phillips, and his brothers Clinton Hindman, Michael Hindman, Dennis Hindman and Billy Hindman. Richard retired as a lineman from Dominion Energy (formerly VEPCO). Richard’s Christian faith was the central tenet of his life. He deeply loved the Lord and loved sharing the love of God with others. Richard is remembered as a trustworthy friend and confidant to many people throughout his life. His strength, loyalty, and kindness made him a treasured friend to those who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 3 PM at Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 37216 Charles Town Pike, Purcellville, VA 20132.
