William Thomas Hogan

William Thomas Hogan, 92, of Aldie, Virginia, died September 30, 2017. William was born on March 2, 1925, at Oatlands, Virginia, to James W. and Nellie T. (House) Hogan. A graduate of Aldie High School, he served during World War II with the 35th Infantry Division, 320th Infantry Regiment in the European Theater. He was employed by the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Washington, DC for 36 years. He made his home in Fairfax, Virginia for 26 years before moving onto the family farm in Aldie, Virginia. He dearly loved the family farm and had fond memories of working the land by hand as a youth. He enjoyed raising cattle while still working in DC and into retirement. Slowed by age and no longer able to farm, he spent time reminiscing on his deck which overlooked fields he plowed with horses as a boy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren and sharing fond memories of a well-storied life.Ž William is survived by his wife, Mabel Cox-Hogan, his children, William Anthony Hogan (Chancelina) and Sally H. Hernley (David), his grandchildren, Sean Hernley, Rachel Hogan and Kelly Hernley, his brother, James Justin Hogan (Kathy) and many nieces and nephews.Ž He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Irene Catherine (Kok) Hogan and his sister, Eileen F. Mahoney.Ž The family will receive friends at Royston Funeral Home, Middleburg, Virginia, on Thursday, October 5th from 5:00 Ž- 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, Middleburg, Virginia on Friday, October 6th at 11:00 a.m.Ž Memorial contributions may be made to the Aldie Ruritan Club, P.O.
