A rainy evening didn’t stop The Preschool Learning Center’s back to school kick off. The preschool welcomed students and families by hosting its annual Back to School Picnic on Thursday, September 25 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. The picnic is one of many family and community activities planned for the 2008/09 school year.
“It’s a great get together that let’s the parents, students and staff get to know each other in a relaxed setting, said parent Jen Lebor. “My three-year-old son, Cooper just couldn’t wait to get here tonight.”
During the picnic, children and parents chatted with teachers, friends and administrators. The menu consisted of hotdogs, potato salad and lemonade, while all families brought a dish to share.
The Preschool Learning Center is in its third year of operation and is a ministry of Leesburg Community Church. “It is our sincere desire to strengthen families and to develop the whole child spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially,” said Nikki Warren, Preschool Learning Center Educational Director. “Our goal is to guide children in developing a hunger for learning and a love for Christ.”
“The school’s rapid growth is a sign we’re headed in the right direction,” said Warren.
