FAIRGRADE LOUDOUN PRESENTATION
By 5parrotheads
FairGrade Loudoun today announced that they have accepted an invitation to make a presentation at a special event organized by parents from the Broad Run District. The event is scheduled for this Friday, November 14, 2008 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at the Lansdowne Potomac Club located at 43459 Riverpoint Drive, Lansdowne, VA. This event is open to the press.
FairGrade Loudoun is looking forward to doing its presentation. The group has already done presentations at Potomac Falls High School, Belmont Ridge Middle School, Harmony Intermediate School and Stone Bridge High School. “We want to share our data with as many people as possible”, said Kathy Lague, FairGrade Loudoun co-founder. “We believe there is an overwhelming amount of evidence showing the seven point grading scale currently used by Loudoun County Public Schools puts Loudoun students at a disadvantage when it comes to college admissions, receiving merit scholarships, obtaining “good student” discounts on automobile insurance and NCAA eligibility.”
Over 1600 people have endorsed the efforts of FairGrade Loudoun, which is asking the Loudoun School Board to change the current seven point grading scale to the more commonly used ten point grading scale, and to address its weighting policies for Honors and Advanced Placement courses.
