Costumed Runners Celebrate Halloween At 5K Race

© Leesburg Today - 11/01/2015

Characters such as Wonder Woman, Forrest Gump, and Batgirl were among the 345 runners to complete the Ghosts, Goblins and Ghouls Spooktacular 5K race at One Loudoun on Saturday afternoon.

""It was hard to breathe through the beard,"" James Prather, 26, said about his Forrest Gump costume.

Tuscarora High freshman Tysen Gotschi, 14, was the overall winner at 18:28 for a 5:57 mile pace. Gotschi, a member of the cross-country team, chose not to dress up in costume so he would be more comfortable.
