DC Man Charged After Running From Ashburn Crash Site

After running from the scene of a traffic accident, a Washington, DC, man faces charges of felony hit and run, possession of marijuana and drunk in public.

The crash happened just after midnight July 31 at the Loudoun County Parkway/George Washington Boulevard interchange in Ashburn. Loudoun County Sheriff's Office investigators said Ivar M. Cox, 36, struck a car that was turning at the crossing. He then ran away on foot, but was tracked down by deputies with the assistance of a K9 unit.
