Driver Seriously Injured After Crash With Tractor-Trailer In Loudoun

A driver involved in a Rt. 9 crash with a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning remains hospitalized in serious condition, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened about 9:30 a.m. May 26 at the Clarkes Gap Road intersection near Paeonian Springs. According to investigators, the driver of a westbound 2016 International tractor-trailer ran a red light at the intersection and struck the side of a 2002 BMW. The BMW driver was airlifted from the scene to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

The truck driver was charged with reckless driving.
