Drop-Off Collections For Hospital Rummage End Saturday

One final push is being made to round up donations for the 77th Inova Loudoun Ladies Board Rummage Sale, which will be held Oct. 17 and 18 at Morven Park Equestrian Center.

This Saturday is the final donation day, although donations may be accepted thereafter by appointment.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, volunteers will be on hand at both Inova Loudoun Hospital locations-at Lansdowne and in Leesburg-to take in those donations. Red balloons at each site will mark the designated collection trailers.

Sale Chairman Lisa Cromwell said the public's contributions, which were a worry earlier in the season, because of lower than normal donation numbers, have picked up somewhat-but a final influx is very much needed.

Cited recently as the largest sale in the mid-Atlantic region and Northern Virginia's Best Annual Charity Event by Virginia Living magazine, the Ladies Board Rummage Sale is the pinnacle of bargain hunting in the region, and the more items that can be donated, the more the merrier, Cromwell says.

Especially valuable or interesting items are needed for the Oct. 17 silent auction, which typically includes signed artwork, jewelry, expensive tools and gift certificates.

Sale proceeds support Ladies Board projects in the community, including nursing scholarships, purchase of special equipment and support of major revitalization projects at the hospital.
