Emergency Response Drills Planned At Leesburg High School

© Leesburg Today - 07/31/2015

During the next two weeks, the Loudoun County High School campus will serve as a training ground for area first responders.

The Loudoun County Department of Fire-Rescue Services, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and the Leesburg Police Department plan exercises at the Leesburg school Monday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug. 16.

They will practice emergency response scenarios aimed at improving coordination and operations in the case of true emergencies.

Drills are expected to be conducted between noon and 9 p.m. and will be closed to the public.

The school was the scene of an emergency lockdown in December when school authorities suspected a student of carrying a firearm. That turned out to be a false alarm.
