Leesburg Man Charged With Assault, DUI After Pursuit

A Leesburg man is behind bars after a domestic assault and police pursuit overnight Saturday.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to an Edds Lane convenience store in Sterling at 9:45 p.m. after a woman reported she had been assaulted and her cell phone taken during a domestic-related incident at her apartment.

Deputies located the suspect, Felix J. Saenz-Contreras, 28, of Leesburg, around 12:15 a.m. Sunday. A vehicle pursuit ensued on Broad Run Drive and then westbound Rt. 7. Saenz-Contreras turned onto Loudoun County Parkway and was finally stopped at Lakeview Center Plaza.

He was charged with driving on a revoked license, DUI (the third in 10 years), refusal, aggravated assault (strangulation) and grand larceny. He was held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
