Leesburg Police Called To Shooting At Town Park

The Leesburg Police Department is searching for a person who was shooting in the area of Veteran's Park yesterday afternoon.

Officers were called to the park around 3 p.m. after town staff members working in the area heard gunshots. They reported seeing a person with a weapon described as a firearm. Responding officers surrounded the area but did not find a suspect. Police cleared the scene just after 6 p.m.

The case is being investigated as a trespassing and illegal discharge of firearms case.
