Nearly 100 Loudoun parents voice rezoning concerns

The school administration building's boardroom was packed with hundreds of concerned parents and students on Monday night. Their message was clear: Rezoning school attendance disrupts stability in communities.

Many of the 85 speakers at the School Board's fourth public hearing on attendance zone changes said that they've already been rezoned once, twice or three times before. Each speaker came to discuss the eight proposed options to rezone in order to provide enrollment relief in the Dulles North planning area. With the opening of Madison's Trust Elementary School slated for the fall of 2016, the board must decide the best option for moving students into it.

""I keep hearing adults discuss community. My neighborhood and my school are my community,"" said Andrew Brown, a fifth-grader at Sanders Corner Elementary School. ""Three years ago we had to fight to stay in Sanders Corner. Now we're fighting again, this time for my sister.""
