© Leesburg Today - 09/25/2015

Ben Carson, retired neurosurgeon and front-runner for the GOP's presidential nomination, will bring his campaign to Loudoun County this weekend.

He'll hold a ""Ben Carson for President"" rally Sunday at Park View High School, at 400 W. Laurel Ave. in Sterling. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m.

Carson has gained political momentum in the past month. Recent polls show him trailing only real estate mogul Donald Trump in a large field of contenders.

Carson is the first 2016 presidential hopeful to stop in Loudoun County. Local voters should expect to be heavily sought after this election cycle. Loudoun is considered a swing district in a swing state.

During the 2012 race for the White House, the county played host to President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann Romney.
