Price Rite, Operation Homefront help feed military families

© Leesburg Today - 05/25/2015

Price Rite and Snyder's Lance teamed up with Feed the Children and Operation Homefront last week to deliver boxes of food and essentials to 800 military families from the Woodbridge area.

The pre-identified families each received a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of essentials like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and personal care items.

Families also received donations from Price Rite, including lettuce, celery, carrots, canned spaghetti, meatballs, chicken noodle soup, corn flakes and canned corn.

""Low- to mid-rank military families often struggle because of the high cost of living in this region,"" Rosanne Coleman, Operation Homefront Mid-Atlantic Program Director, said in a news release. ""Operation Homefront receives requests for food assistance from military families regularly and this partnership allows us to serve military families and demonstrate that the community supports them as well.""

The food was distributed May 21 outside the Price Right in Daniel Stuart Square in Woodbridge.
