School Board vote moves 2,000 Loudoun students to new schools

More than 2,000 Loudoun County elementary school students will be shifted to new schools next school year.

The School Board voted 8-1 Tuesday night on an attendance zone plan that will free up space in overcrowded Brambleton area elementary schools. The plan will move about 400 students from Creighton's Corner Elementary School in Dulles North to Sycolin Creek Elementary School just outside of Leesburg.

Even with the opening of new Madison's Trust Elementary School in Dulles North next fall, LCPS projects more than 200 students will still be left without seats. The board chose to make use of Leesburg-area schools with room.
