Two Jogger Assaults Reported

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and the Leesburg Police Department are seeking information about two cases in which joggers were assaulted.

A woman jogging in the area of Riverside Parkway and Kipheart Drive in Lansdowne around 5:45 a.m. Thursday was tackled by an assailant. She was able to fight off the man and was given a ride home by a passerby.

The suspect was described as a black male possibly wearing a grey hoodie and khaki pants. He fled on foot towards the Lansdowne Town Center.

The Leesburg case happened approximately 24 hours earlier.

A woman was jogging along Battlefield Parkway at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, when she was run off the roadway by a dark-colored Nissan Versa. Later while jogging along North King Street near Ida Lee Park, she saw the car parked on Bridgette Place. Then a man ran by her and grabbed her buttocks. The suspect, described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood covering his head, continued to run north along King Street and turned into Bridgette Place.

Officers searched the area and did not find the suspect or the vehicle.
