Fairfax County fire officials say five students, two of them with critical injuries, were taken to the hospital Friday morning after a fire in a chemistry classroom at Woodson High School.

A teacher also suffered minor injuries in the fire, but was not taken to the hospital.

The school on Main Street in Fairfax had already planned to  dismiss early today, at 12:55 p.m., and students will remain evacuated until then as fire investigators and a hazmat team investigate.

Two of the five students injured were flown by helicopter to Washington Hospital Center's burn unit, fire officials said.

The parents of the injured students have been notified.
