Ashburn Elite athletes qualify for Junior Olympics

Ashburn Elite Track Club produced a strong showing at the Virginia State Championship and AAU Junior Olympic Qualifier, June 23-25 in Gloucester.

Ashburn Elite athletes medaled in multiple events, including sprints, long distance, long jump, hurdles, triple jump, shot put, high jump and relay races.

David Cobbs (long jump), Kaitlyn Greene (triple jump), Chris Rollinson (200 hurdles) Christian Rollinson (100 hurdles) are each state champions after claiming gold in their respective events.

A total of 23 athletes qualified for the Junior Olympics, set to begin July 29 in Detroit, Mich.
