Briar Woods High School’s boys freshmen basketball team did not lose a single game during the 2011-2012 season. The Falcons, coached by Donnell Giles, posted a 22-0 record with 16 of those victories by double-digit margins.

“The players worked hard all year long, and kept our motto of Falcon family,” Giles stated. “The players on this team understand the true meaning of student athlete, and that student comes first. If you didn’t perform well in the classroom, then you didn’t play in the game. The parents supported us all year long by helping out when needed, and I can’t say enough how thankful I am for a great group of parents.”

Making up the freshmen squad are Connor Gaines, Corey Krystkowick, Darell Ramey, Jay Kennedy, Joesph Corlett, John Karl, Johnny Ryan, Jordan Thomas, Justin Rospund, Malcom Leviege, Matthew Pompilo, Tristian Carter and Zach Bentler.

Briar Woods varsity basketball coach Mike Benson is eager to see the group progress during their high school careers.

“We were blessed with some very talented freshmen players this season who played hard every game and were able to win some close games,” he stated. “I am excited about the future of the program with players who know how to win.”

Did I hear someone tell me that Valley’s Freshmen football team went pefect? Is this true? Just curious.

Great Job Gentlemen!
