Haley Buffenbarger netted four goals in Foxcroft School's 12-0 victory against Wakefield School on Sept. 11 to become the program's career scoring leader.

The junior midfielder from Leesburg added four goals in her next two games to push her total to 47 goals.

Alex Grace, now a sophomore lacrosse player at the University of Virginia, held the previous mark of 42 goals. Grace, who still holds the single-season mark with 35, played two seasons of field hockey before switching to cross-country.

Buffenbarger scored 16 goals as a freshman and added 22 more as a sophomore. She has earned All-Delaney Athletic Conference honors each of her first two seasons and was a VISAA All-State selection as a freshman.

For her efforts, Buffenbarger was selected as Foxcroft's Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sept. 16.
