Furr caps softball career in style

Woodgrove High School alum Alayna Furr recently graduated from Concord University in Athens, W. Va. with an undergraduate degree in social work.

A member of Woodgrove's first state champion softball team in 2012, Furr went on to enjoy a successful career at Concord.

A four-year starter, mainly at shortstop, Furr earned first-team All Mountain East accolades each of her final two seasons, and garnered second-team NFCA All-Region honors in 2017.

She graduates as Concord's career hits leader (235) and also set a single-season record with 80 hits.

Furr started her softball career with the Loudoun Storm under the coaching of her father Keith Furr.
