After successfully guiding the Loudoun County High School volleyball program to state championships in each of her four seasons as head coach, Sherrilyn Hanna has resigned from her position in order to spend more time with family.

Hanna served eight seasons on the Raider coaching staff, the first four as an assistant on Jenica Matthias' staff. During that span, Loudoun County claimed state titles in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

“I could not be more proud of these girls," Hanna said following Loudoun County's straight-set win versus Grafton in the 2017 state final in November. "We knew we had the players to make this happen this year. It was just getting everyone heading in the same direction.”

Sherrilyn Hanna's daughters Marguerite and Juliane were members of Loudoun County's first state championship team in 2007, spiking a run of 10 state titles in 11 seasons.

Following college, Marguerite and Juliane returned to the Raider program as coaches. Juliane Hanna coached junior varsity for three seasons and Marguerite Hanna spent the past four years as an assistant varsity coach.

Marguerite Hanna will focus on her career path as a physical therapist moving forward, concluding a magical run that saw a member of the Hanna family playing or coaching on each of the program's championship teams.
