Leesburg volleyball rocks: Loudoun County, Tuscarora net state titles

The Loudoun County Raiders and the Tuscarora Huskies each claimed Virginia High School League state volleyball championships Saturday evening in Richmond.

Loudoun County won the Class 4 state title and Tuscarora collected the Class 5 state crown.

Both Leesburg schools won their state championship matches in straight sets Saturday at the Siegel Center, on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University.

Loudoun County defeated Grafton 25-15, 25-21, 25-16 to earn its 10th state championship, a VHSL record.

Tuscarora took the court next and impressed in its first state final appearance. The Huskies swept Princess Anne 25-22, 25-19, 27-25 to claim their first state volleyball title.
