Loudoun Patriots swish state runner-up honors

The Loudoun Patriots homeschool varsity basketball teams each finished second at the 2017 VHSAA State Championships Feb. 25 in Roanoke.

Both teams qualified for the East Coast Homeschool Championships, set for March 13-17 at Liberty University.

The Patriots defeated Fairfax 77-61 in the state semifinals and lost 71-61 to Central Virginia in the boys' championship game.

The Patriots defeated top-ranked State Line (Galax) 39-34 in the semifinals and lost 53-38 to Central Virginia in the girls' championship game.
