Loudoun Valley scores a perfect 15 at state cross-country meet

Loudoun Valley High School runners crossed the finish line one through five Nov. 10 at the Great Meadow course in The Plains to secure the Virginia Class 4 state boys' cross-country championship with a perfect score of 15.

Sam Affolder won the race in 15 minutes, 20 seconds, followed by teammates Peter Morris (15:26), Colton Bogucki (15:55), Jacob Hunter (15:56) and Connor Wells (16:04).

Other highlights included Tuscarora winning the Class 5 state girls' team championship and Loudoun Valley's Natalie Morris placing first individually in the Class 4 girls' race.

Dominion's boys and Loudoun Valley's girls each raced to runner-up team finishes in Class 4.
