Loudoun varsity athletes rack up state titles

Rock Ridge senior Nicole Fye swims to a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle race Feb. 17 at the Virginia 4A state swimming meet in Richmond. Fye, committed to swim at Ohio State University, also won the 200 freestyle title, in addition to teaming with Gabby Zhang, Emerson Davis and Allie MacMillan to place first in the 400 freestyle relay.—Times-Mirror/Patrick Kane
Several student-athletes from Loudoun high schools produced impressive results at the Virginia High School League State Swimming, Wrestling and Gymnastics Championships.

Ten individuals and four relay teams swam to state titles, four wrestlers struck state gold and Freedom's Sydney Wrighte was the class of the field in gymnastics.

Riverside collected state gold as a girls' team at the Group 3A Swim Championships.
