Loudoun Varsity Sports Rewind: Oct. 12-17 games

Golf

-Northern Virginia B Girls Golf Zone 4 Qualifier

SBHS report: Stone Bridge senior, Anjali Kumar participated in the Zone 4A Qualifier golf tournament at the Shenandoah White/Red Golf Course in White Post.

Anjali shot a 90 with one birdie on hole 9 of the red course. She hit 9 of 14 fairways in regulation and 6 of 18 greens in regulation. Anjali had 40 putts.

Anjali placed fifth, which makes her the first alternate in case one of the top four qualifying players can not attend the state tournament on Oct. 23-24 in Richmond.

LCHS report: The Loudoun County Raiders faced district foe Riverside in their last regular season home match, sweeping the Rams in straight sets. Next up for the Raiders (19-2, 9-1) is a district match-up at Park View on Oct. 24.

-Raiders go 4-1 at Tournament of Champions

LCHS report: The Loudoun County Raiders traveled to Roanoke to play in the two-day Tournament of Champions. Down two key players, the Raiders (18-2) came away from the tournament 4-1, losing only to undefeated Lord Bortetourt (23-25, 22-25).

The Raiders' four wins came against 5A Patrick Henry (25-17, 21-25, 15-5); 2016's 3A State Champion Hidden Valley (25-22, 26-24), a rematch of the Raiders' Regional semi-final match, Liberty Christian (25-12, 25-13), and 5-time State Champion Cave Spring (25-18, 25-17).
