Lower Loudoun wins Little League Juniors state championship

The Lower Loudoun Little League Juniors (ages 13-14) level All-Star team recently won the Virginia State Tournament championship in Bluefield and will next play in the Little League Juniors Southeast Regional Tournament.

After winning a district championship, Lower Loudoun defeated teams from Richmond, Spotsylvania County, Dumfries, New Market and Portsmouth to claim the state title.

Lower Loudoun will take an 8-0 record into the Little League Juniors Southeast Regional Tournament, set for Aug. 4-8 in Fort Myers, Fla.

The team consists of players Blain Simonich, Jon McElroy, Shane Reilly, Bryce Edwards, Jackson Lyon, Reiss Phillips, Wesley Ricks, Liam Best, Nolan Levenhagen, Alex Wright, JT Turner, Declan McCann, Mario Canestraro and Mike Godek, along with coaches Jon Lyon, Scott Levenhagen, Alex McElroy and Brian Best.
