The Riverside Rams have proved up to the task throughout their second season on the baseball diamond.

Already conference and regional tournament champions, Riverside jumped out to a 2-0 lead versus Turner Ashby in the Virginia 3A state final June 10 at Salem Memorial Ballpark.

Senior Trey Campbell and junior Aidan Koferl each drove home runs in the top of the first inning.

Turner Ashby responded with two runs in the first and three more in the second as it pulled away for a 14-3 victory.

Riverside - coached by Sam Plank - completed the season at 24-4.
