NOVA Roller Derby is currently recruiting new members. No experience is necessary. A Winter Booty Camp for attendees to learn the basics is Jan. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. Pre-registration is required and loaner gear may be available upon request.

Starting in February, NOVA Roller Derby will begin a three-month Fresh Meat Program where attendees will learn everything they need to know about roller derby. Upon completion, skaters may have the opportunity to be drafted to a team and play in the fall.

NRD also seeks volunteer non-skating officials and referees. Training will be provided. Details at http://www.novarollerderby.com

Baseball

Greater Loudoun Babe Ruth is registering players ages 13-18 for the spring season. Register at http://www.glbr.org by Feb. 1 to receive a discounted fee and to be eligible for a drawing for a $50 refund.

Basketball

The Loudoun Xtreme ninth grade boys' travel team will hold tryouts for the spring season Feb. 18 and Feb. 25 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the auxiliary gym at Eagle Ridge Middle School in Ashburn. Skills Plus Basketball is offering day camps for girls and boys in fourth grade through eighth grade Jan. 29 and Feb. 19 from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. at Harper Park Middle School.
