Two Spartans to play college baseball

Broad Run High School senior baseball players Matt McCluskey and Dom Craig have finalized their college baseball plans.

McCluskey, a first basemen, has accepted a partial scholarship to play for the University of Virginia's College of Wise. UVA-Wise will transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II next year. McCluskey hit .370 for the Spartans as a junior.

"We are very happy for Matt and his family," Broad Run baseball coach Pat Cassidy stated. "I am glad he accepted his scholarship so he can enjoy his senior year on the field for us before he heads to UVA-Wise to study and play college baseball."

Craig will take his catching skills to Gordon College, a Division III program in Wenham, Mass. Craig, described by Spartan baseball coach Pat Cassidy as an outstanding student-athlete, earned the Presidential Scholarship at Gordon.
