Two Xtreme teams qualify for NFL Flag Championships

A pair of youth football teams from the Virginia Xtreme Sports organization have earned a chance to be crowned NFL FLAG National Champions. The national competition will be contested in January during Pro Bowl week at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla.

The Virginia Xtreme 10U team and the Virginia Xtreme Elite 12U squad qualified for the national tournament by winning age division titles Nov. 18 at the NFL FLAG Baltimore Ravens Regional Tournament in Middle River, Md.

VXS 10U won all five of its games in the regional tournament, averaging 22 points per game while posting one shutout.

VXS 12U was also undefeated with a 6-0 mark. The team averaged 28 points per game and shut out three opponents.

VXS, based in Leesburg, won NFL FLAG National Championships in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
