Vaughan signs to play volleyball at Albany

Loudoun County High School senior Andersen Vaughan recently signed to attend and play NCAA Division I volleyball for the University at Albany in New York, beginning in the fall of 2018. Vaughan helped the Raiders win multiple state titles during her varsity career and earned all-state accolades in each of her final two seasons.

VHSL Class 4 All-State volleyball team

Four players - Megan Bukala, Andersen Vaughan, Rebecca Frey and Josi Williams - on Loudoun County High School's state championship team have earned selection on the 2017 Virginia High School League Class 4 volleyball team. Sherrilyn Hanna of the Raiders received Coach of the Year honors

VHSL Class 5 All-State volleyball team

Tuscarora's John Senchak has been selected as Coach of the Year on the 2017 Virginia High School League Class 5 volleyball team after guiding the Huskies to their first state championship in the fall. The all-state team includes players from Stone Bridge and Tuscarora high schools.

Woodgrove High School senior Maddie Erb has committed to continue her education and volleyball career at Christopher Newport University in 2018. Erb earned all-district and all-region accolades in 2017.

Volleyball champs: Tuscarora shines in first trip to state final

Playing under the bright lights of the Siegel Center gymnasium at Virginia Commonwealth University for the first time, the Tuscarora Huskies proved ready for the big stage Nov. 18 in the VHSL Class 5 state volleyball championship match. Tuscarora swept reigning champion Princess Anne 25-22, 25-19, 27-25 to hoist its first state championship trophy.

Volleyball champs: Raiders rule the state once again

The Loudoun County Raiders played their best volleyball when it counted most. After seeing their streak of 11 consecutive regional championships snapped in a five-set loss to Millbrook, the Raiders rebounded to win each of their state tournament matches in straight sets. Loudoun County put the icing on another state championship season with a 25-15, 25-21, 25-16 sweep of Grafton in the VHSL Class 4 final.

Leesburg volleyball rocks: Loudoun County, Tuscarora net state titles

The Loudoun County Raiders and the Tuscarora Huskies each claimed Virginia High School League state volleyball championships Saturday evening in Richmond. Loudoun County won the Class 4 state title and Tuscarora collected the Class 5 state crown.

Tuscarora wins wild one to reach first-ever state volleyball final

For the first time in their eight-year history, the Tuscarora Huskies are taking this volleyball season as far as it can go. The Huskies (20-5) earned their debut appearance in the upcoming Virginia Class 5 championship match by defeating previously unbeaten North Stafford (19-1) at home Nov. 14, in a state semifinal that went about as far as it could go.

Region 4C volleyball team selections

Heritage, Loudoun County and Woodgrove high schools are each represented on the 2017 All-Region 4C volleyball team. Millbrook outside hitter Victoria Johnson is the Player of the Year and Carla Milton of Millbrook is the Coach of the Year.

VHSL state volleyball tournament scoreboard

The Loudoun County Raiders (Class 4) and the Tuscarora Huskies (Class 5) each won Virginia High School League state volleyball tournament semifinal matches Tuesday night to punch their tickets for Saturday's state finals. Loudoun County swept Millbrook on the road, while Tuscarora outlasted North Stafford in five sets at home.
