ALDI opened a new store in Leesburg Dec. 17 as part of the grocery store chain’s national expansion. The new store, at 125 Robinson Mill Plaza near Lowe’s Home Improvement, will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, ALDI said it has prioritized health and safety of its customers and employees.
“We are dedicated to providing the communities we serve the best groceries at the lowest-possible prices, and we look forward to introducing Leesburg to their new neighborhood grocery store,” Jeff Baehr, Frederick division vice president for ALDI, said in a statement.
ALDI said its stores are designed for simplicity and efficiency, which is even more important during a pandemic as customers often want to get in and out of grocery stores as quickly as possible.
The new store in Leesburg will be offering curbside pickup starting Tuesday, Jan. 5.
ALDI also operates stores in Sterling and Ashburn. As part of its national expansion plan, ALDI is hoping to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022.
The grocery store chain remains “focused on ensuring stores are stocked with the food and household essentials customers want and need, including healthy, convenient options and a robust selection of produce delivered fresh to all stores daily,” ALDI said in a statement. “ALDI stores also feature open ceilings, natural lighting and are built with environmentally friendly materials.”
