Former Washington Redskin and community advocate Santana Moss will host a ribbon-cutting for his 89 Pizza, Wings & Football restaurant – a collaboration with Spinfire Pizza – on Sept. 28.
The relaunched One Loudoun eatery will feature custom-made pizzas and wings. Restaurant representatives said the rebrand will include a push toward more of a sports bar feel.
"My team and I are proud and thrilled to introduce 89 Pizza to One Loudoun," Moss said in his grand opening announcement. "Our menu will feature some of my favorite pizza combinations and wing flavors. The 'Hurricane Wings' has a flavorful mix of barbecue, buffalo sauce and mixed garlic, reflecting my Miami playing days. My personal favorite is 'The 89 Pizza.' made with savory pepperoni and sausage.”
89 Pizza, Wings & Football is working to secure a liquor license for beer and wine sales, as well.
Restaurant representatives say the interior features football décor and gives “a nod to the evolution” of the sport. They also say it'll be a place where fans will have a chance to meet some of their favorite players.
Moss has been highly active and visible in the Loudoun community since launching his 89 Ways to Give foundation a couple years ago.
"It's been incredible to have this opportunity with this new partnership and to create a space for our area’s families and youths to be inspired and to celebrate with their friends or teams," he says. "It’s all about enjoying the sports they love, including e-sports. We’ll also be having Madden tournaments every Saturday, and we’ll give winners the chance to play against pro-NFL players."
The ribbon-cutting will be held Sept. 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant is at 20552 Easthampton Plaza in Ashburn.
