For the second year in a row, Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg has been awarded the prestigious Five-Star rating from the Forbes Travel Guide.
Forbes Five-Star ratings are based on professional, anonymous inspections and grade both the facility and service, with an emphasis on service and experience, according to ForbesTravelGuide.com. Only 268 properties around the globe secured five stars in 2020, with just 82 recognized in the U.S., according to Salamander officials.
“It is a continued honor for our resort to achieve this rating,” Sheila Johnson, founder and CEO of Salamander Hotels & Resorts, said in a prepared statement. “Retaining a Five-Star rating is as important as receiving the designation for the first time. The resort’s entire team of service professionals, led by General Manager Reggie Cooper, continue to exceed our guests’ expectations on a daily basis.”
Launched in 2013 after nearly a decade of planning, Salamander offers a series of immersive experiences to its guests, including Harrimans Virginia Piedmont Grill, a cooking studio and culinary garden, an outdoor spa courtyard with an infinity pool, a tree-top zip line tour and a 22-stall equestrian center with riding arena.
Salamander Hotels & Resorts also operates Half Moon in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Hotel Bennett in Charleston, South Carolina; The Henderson in Destin, Florida; and Innisbrook Resort in Tampa Bay.
Both Hotel Bennett and Half Moon received four stars from Forbes this year.
