Old Ox MIddleburg

Old Ox Brewery has opened a second location in Middleburg.

Old Ox Brewery will host a ceremonial grand opening at its new Middleburg location July 27.

A ceremonial tapping of the first keg will take place at noon at the new 14. S. Madison Street facility.

“We are excited to be part of the Middleburg community and appreciate all of the support the town has given us to get the doors open,” Old Ox President Chris Burns said in a prepared statement.

The brewery has softly opened in Middleburg over the past few weeks.

Two new beers will be released during the opening festivities – the Middleburg Apricot Blonde and a Middleburg Blonde aged in red wine barrels. The two offerings will available exclusively at the Middleburg pub, which features a 2,000-square-foot tasting room and outdoor beer garden.

The original Old Ox in Ashburn opened in 2014.

I'm no business person, but Middleburg isn't exactly swarming with beer drinkers. You'd likely make more money with a wine bar. Old Ox should have put this in Purcellville or Leesburg.
