Edna Kathleen Kempinger Rieger, 89, passed away at the Inova Medical Hospital in Lansdown, VA on Sunday April 25, 2021 with her daughter and grand-daughter at her side.

She was born on February 10, 1932 and raised in Queens, New York. She lived a full life to include, taking care of three children as a Navy wife. She spent time living in Virginia Beach, Virginia; Orlando, Florida; Muscle Shoals, Alabama and back to Florida. She moved to Virginia in 2010 where she is survived by her daughter Lydia K. Taylor, sons Keith E. Rieger and wife Debbie Rieger; Kirk L. Rieger and wife Rebecca A. Rieger. She is also survived by her grand-daughter Rebecca H. DeLancey and husband Chris DeLancey and great-grandchildren.

Her hobbies were gardening and crafts. She loved the outdoors and her flowers. Her special passion in life was to crochet a blanket for every new born child that she met, so they would never be cold.

A private service will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home and Cemetery in Martinsburg, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family would like contributions to go to the ASPCA, as this was another one of her passions to care for as many animals as she could.
