Lucas Bohn, a local comedian who is a former teacher at Rolling Ridge Elementary School in Sterling, is a contestant on NBC's “Bring the Funny,” a new comedy series that airs July 9 at 10 p.m.
The show stars Jeff Foxworthy, Kenan Thompson and Christy Teigen as judges in the 10-episode competition that features a variety of acts vying for a $250,000 prize.
Bohn told the Times-Mirror he wrote a one-man stand-up variety show that was selected for the competition. He was one of 40 acts who filmed the show in Los Angeles this past April.
While he cannot reveal the outcome of his performance, Bohn said it was a great experience where he met a lot of amazing people.
Bohn, who tours around the country in theaters, cruise ships and comedy clubs, maintains his roots in Loudoun with a regular monthly show at Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn. He brings in talent from around the country to perform. The next show features Robert Mac and is July 27 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at oldoxbrewery.com.
