Bike TrAle Brewery, located at 101 Loudoun St. in downtown Leesburg, is closing its doors after two years in business and will turn over the keys to Dynasty Brewing out of Ashburn.
Bike TrAle's owners, Greg Perlberg of South Riding and Bruce Forbes of Leesburg, said juggling full-time careers with the beer venture was more difficult than it appeared.
“Running a brewery is 5 percent about brewing beer and 95 percent business operations, with the 95 percent being a full-time effort. We have realized that we need to adjust our focus to families and careers,” Perlberg said in a prepared statement.
Dynasty Brewing, owned by Favio Garcia and Travis Thompson, opened in Ashburn off Loudoun County Parkway in September 2018.
The owners say business has been “growing steadily,” and the downtown Leesburg location provides an opportunity to expand.
“We are excited to join the scene in Leesburg. It's a great town and destination that offers foot traffic, which we do not have here in Ashburn,” Garcia said.
Dynasty will brew on site in Leesburg and will offer “experimental” IPAs and Stouts.
Visitors to the Leesburg location will have a chance to check out Dynasty this month at taproom pop-ups on the weekends. Dynasty officially takes over the lease Jan. 1.
“We look forward to becoming part of the business community in Leesburg. We thank our friends at Bike TrAle for facilitating this incredible opportunity,” Garcia said.
