Dulles-based Solace Brewing Company has partnered with Lost Dog Café in Arlington to produce Rescue Ale, a limited-edition India Pale Ale that will support the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation, or LDCRF.
The new brew will be made available at all Lost Dog Café locations in both draft and four-pack 16-ounce cans on Oct. 17, coinciding with National Adopt-a-Dog Month. The first official release party will be held Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. at Lost Dog’s Alexandria location at 808 North Henry Street. The Solace release party will take place at 42615 West Trade Drive in Dulles on Oct. 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds from every pint sold will support LDCRF’s pet adoption efforts in the greater Washington, D.C. area. LDCRF has also scheduled pet adoption fairs at the brewery and select Lost Dog locations throughout the month. The first adoption fair will take place during the Oct. 17 release party and will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Founded in Arlington in 2001, the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless dogs and cats find permanent homes. It rescues more than 2,000 pets per year and estimates that it has saved over 30,000 animal lives since its founding.
