One Loudoun will host the Virginia Wine Festival for the first time on Saturday.
Celebrating its 44th year with a new location, the festival will bring unlimited wine and cider tasting, gourmet food vendors and live entertainment to Ashburn. More than 200 Virginia wines will be available to try and buy during the event.
Visitors can also purchase beer tickets to enjoy products from the some of the state’s ever-increasing number of craft breweries.
A diverse array of food vendors will be present, including Indian cuisine, Korean barbeque, gourmet popcorn, seafood and — new this year — the VA Oyster Pavilion, where Chesapeake-area oyster producers will showcase and sell thousands of oysters, served on the half-shell or prepared in other creative culinary fashions.
Whether with a wine, beer or brat in hand, all visitors to the festival can enjoy toe-tapping live music throughout the event. Acts include Maryland rock cover band Ex’s & Oh’s, contemporary R&B outfit Signature Live and other performers from throughout the region.
General admission tickets to this year’s festival start at $39 for one-day passes and $59 for two-day passes when paid in advance. Tickets include unlimited wine tasting as well as access to the Oyster Pavilion and all concessions and entertainment.
Admission for visitors under the age of 21 costs $15 for each day, and children 6 and under can enter for free. A Sunday designated driver discount ticket is also available for $30.
Credit or debit cards will be required to purchase food from gourmet vendors, beer tickets and day-of admission tickets, though wineries and retail vendors will accept cash.
